Business man Jimmy Wanjigi has officially joined Safina party to seek for the presidency after ditching Raila Odinga’s led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Speaking during the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the party,Wanjigi said that they in the path to build democracy and correct inequalities.
“Our dream for the economic liberation of Kenyans is more alive than ever and we will achieve that in Safina party,” said Wanjigi in his speech.
” The ark has left the dock and our destination is the presidency of this great Republic,” he proceeded.
Safina party leader Paul Muite welcomed Wanjigi and urged any other political aspirant who is willing to contest for presidency to join his party.
This move comes after Wanjigi resigned from ODM after he was kicked out of the party’s National Delegate Conference at Kasarani.
“I resigned from ODM after the brutal violence I experienced at Kasarani during the ODM National Delegates Conference. Hon. Raila made it practically impossible for the party to hold free, democratic and credible Presidential nomination,” he added.
