Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) kicked off on Monday across the country.
This year, a total of 831,015 students will sit for the exams in 10,413 centres across the country compared to last year where 752,981 students sat for the exams in 10, 437 centres.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha assured the country that plans have been made to ensure the exams is conducted in safe environment and with integrity.
Magoha will be supervising the examination distribution exercise in different centres across the country.
According to directives from the Education Ministry, only Deputy County Commissioner and Assistant County Commissioners will be involved n the daily opening and closing of the exam containers in their respective sub counties.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and ICT Cabinet Secretary will be supervising exams in Machakos and Kajiado town.
Interior PS Karanja Kibicho will also be supervising Nairobi while PS Fatuma Chege will supervise the examination distribution in Nyeri County.
The exams started with the mathematics paper is supposed to end on March 9th, 2022 with social studies and Religious education as the last paper.
