Nyandarua Senator Mwangi Githiomi has ditched Jubilee to join Deputy President William Ruto led United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ahead of the August polls.
The Senate Land Commitee chairperson was received by the DP at his Karen office accompanied by Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata, Member of Parliament’s Ndidi Nyoro and Rigathi Gachagua.
In a Facebook post, DP Ruto made the announcement on Friday ahead of a campaign tour in Nyandarua.
“Growing bigger and better, welcoming Nyandarua Senator Mwangi Githiomi to the Hustler Nation,” read the post.
Githiomi is the latest politician from Central Kenya who has ditched the ruling Jubilee party to join UDA.
This move comes just as Jubilee holds its National Delegates Convention on Friday at the BOMAS of Kenya.
Ruto’s campaign tour is set to visit Kinangop, Olkalou, Olijoorok and Ndaragwa constituencies.
