
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) delegates in Kisumu County have endorsed Kisumu Governor Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o as the parties gubernatorial aspirant.
The delegates from the seven sub counties convened for the annual delegates conference at Tom Mboya Labour College on Monday,February 21st,2022.
Kakamega Governor Wyclife Oparanya,Kisii Governor James Ongwae and ODM National Treasurer Hon.Timothy Bosire were in attendance together with aspirants for various positions.
Kisumu County Assembly speaker Hon.Elisha Oraro brought a motion to elect one aspirant for the gubernatorial position.
Several members seconded the motion to support Nyong’o for the second term and with no opposing side,the delegates unanimously endorsed Nyong’o for the gubernatorial position.
This decision came just days after the governor’s rivals including Kisumu Senator Fred Outa,former Governor Jack Ranguma and former Kisumu County Assembly Speaker Onyango Oloo chose former Chief Administrative Secretary for East Africa Community Ken Obura as the gubernatorial candidate.
All eyes are now set to see the next move by the govenor’s rivals after the unanimous decision by the ODM delegates.
