Wanjigi has been accused to be in a possession of 10 firearms and over 480 rounds of ammunition which include a CQ, Glock, Ceska, Glock 19, pistol, shotgun and Gilboa.
In a notice issued on Monday, the DCI states that the firearms are illegally held and he doesn’t own any certificate of possesing them.
“The DCI has established that you hold 10 firearms of different makes and description as described below and which act of possession is in contravention of the law as on December 5, 2018, the cabinet Secretary of interior and Coordination of National Government Dr. Fred Matiang’i gave Moratorium for Mandatory Vetting of Civilian Firearms Holders,” Kuriah Obadiah from Directorate’s in-charge Serious Crime Unit stated.
“Since then, there has been no indication or evidence of you having attended the Mandatory Vetting as required by the Cabinet Secretary,” he proceeds.

Mogeni who is Wanjigi’s bodyguard was in possession of the illegal firearms, which he says were given to him by Wanjigi at Kwacha Group of Companies.
“The firearms and ammunition whereabout are unknown and could be in the arms of criminal gangs as demonstrated in the arming of an ex GSU officer inside the premises of a company that you fully control,” the letter read.
“You’re therefore required to surrender the listed firearms and ammunition to the undersigned at the DCI Headquarters Complex Kiambu Road within 72 hours of the date and time of delivery of this summon,” it continued.
