Deputy President Dr.William Ruto has officially apologized to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) over a remark he made during UDA rally in Nyeri.
Ruto,whose statement on Monday 16,February caused more controversy about DRC not having a single cow and they only import milk.
In a statement made by his Communications Director, Hussein Mohammed, the DP stated that his remark was informal and that his purpose was to emphasize UDA’s plan to increase productivity in the dairy and other agriculture sectors.
“My speech was informal and my use of certain effects was purely to underscore the magnitude of the opportunity and the urgency of the moment to the local audience. It was not intended to be disrespectful in any way,” read the statement.
He further talked about how he respects the Central African nation and holds a high opinion of the country.
“I regret any misunderstanding that may have arisen on account of my speech and take this opportunity to assure the government and the people of DRC of my profound admiration and high regard,” stated the DP.
Ruto made this statements while addressing dairy farmers in Nyeri,where promised that his administration will ensure it capitalizes on the dairy demands in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
