Former investigative journalist Dennis Onsarigo has been appointed as the press secretary for Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement campaign team ahead of the August 9th general elections.
In a statement on Sunday, Raila said Onsarigo will coordinate all media relations of the campaigns, including media engagement and management.
Tasked with the duty of disseminating news and liasing with the secreteriat and other coalition partners,Onsarigo will work closely with mainstream media to inform the public about any developments in the party.
According to the Azimio la Umoja chief principal,the journalist will be bringing much experience he previously gained while working with various top media houses.
“Onsarigo is a professional bringing journalism and media consulting with experience spanning fourteen years to the table,” said Odinga.
Onsarigo,who is a holder of BA in Communications and Political Science, Diploma in Broadcast Journalism and currently pursuing a Master of Arts and Governance, Peace and Security.
He has also previously worked with Nation Media Group and the Standard Media Group as the investigative reporter and manager.
Until his appointment, Onsarigo worked as the director of communications at the County Government of Taita Taveta, where he was the link between the national government and the Council of Governors.
